I haven't painted landscapes for a long time. So today morning I took a 12"x12" canvas board and painted a full sky landscape. The colours used here are Mauve, Cobalt teal, Phthalocyanine blue, Turquoise deep, Permanent Green Light, Lemon Yellow, Burnt Sienna and Titanium white. TIPS FOR BEGINNERS: Do your practice by sketching same models from different angles and lights. If it is life models/references, do it having in a different poses/expressions. Through practices you are not only gaining the craft, but also increasing your observation and knowledge. Like I mentioned in other videos, do sketch eyes, nose, and ears, which will benefit your overall learning process in facial construction. Also, try to understand the spherical shape of the Sclera (the white area in eye) and the position of iris and implement light effect over these shapes. If you are a beginner, start with shading basic shapes like sphere, cylinder and cube. Comment below your questions. Tip for beginners: for a start, pick simple shaped objects with less corners/ cuts. This will help you to avoid facing all challenges of pencil shading in a single study. "PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!" Here is another video to watch pencil shading. For this still life model sketching I picked a glass jar with little water in it. Doing object study using transparent materials are difficult for some people and it's more challenging when it is a glossy reflecting surface with transparency! Completed another water colour warmup painting which shows the washing method of water colouring. Guiding and letting the dripping colour is fun, same time relaxing too! Changing tools and mediums is fun as well as adventurous especially when it happens in a new environment!
